Though curious, I'm not sure taking sneaky photos is a good idea when permission has been denied...

@Sabrina thanks for your post, you have to travel by car then walk into the woods either by the main entrance or one of the surrounding estates. There is a map on my first post which should help alot.

@grigorisgirl Yeah my girlfriends family get thier christmas trees there aswell. My mistake with the name not sure how I got to that. I have just bought a new Sony SLR, I am looking now to get a 300mm G Lens. But need to be a bit clever with my money to do so haha.

If you get any more photos be sure to post your link up here again mate.

I think you’ll find it’s called Oxenford Farm, we used to get our Christmas trees there! Apparently the old stone barn is genuinely old but what looks like a ruined chuch is in fact a folly (or so they told us once) They been building those sets since way back in last year in fact I thought they must have used them by now so was surprised to see all the activity the other day when I drove past.
I took some photos in Bourne Woods a couple of weeks ago you can find them on Flickr Here. > http://www.flickr.com/photos/26286848@N02/3438201877/in/photostream/

We watched them filming some of Gladiator years back but of course we had no idea who russell Crowe was then!
What lens did you use. I’ve got a 250mm zoom and was hoping to go back there whilst they were filming some time.

Nice photos. In the RC photo, however, the bow looks too small. Classic longbows were nearly 6 feet in length, as only at that size could you get the requisite range. RC’s looks to be about 5 feet.

Apparently, the part of the set you weren’t able to photograph will be a Nottingham set, and on Wikipedia, it states that Scott is “happy” with the way the set has aged since it was built over a year ago.

cheers
