Robin Hood Film Set 2009 part 3

Here are some images of my most recent trip to Bourne Wood and Oxenford Farm Film sets. As you can see the Bourne set is now taking shape. The castle on the hill made of scaffolding is now being surrounded with wood. Stone is being added to the buildings and  slates on the roofing of the village buildings. Trees have been added to the surrounding area to add growth and depth to the area. There is now even a place for the guard to stand atop the barricades.

I hope you are enjoying seeing the sets progress as much as I am.

Oxenford farm 3rd May 2009

Here are a few pictures I managed to get from the set on Oxenford farm. This set is quite large now and looks like a town with blacksmith church and many many houses. Ridley Scott has been said to be very pleased with this sets progress and has been building it for over a year now.

After visiting the sets I felt I deserved a pint of my favourite London Pride, on what has been a lovely weekend .

  1. Interesting to see the scaffolding being covered, I thought they might just CGI it. Went past Oxenford on Friday and all the trucks were gone but a guard was still sitting there.
Might pop up to Bourne Woods at the end of the week and see what’s occurring.

  9. Thank you so much for posting these photos – as a background artist on the Robin Hood set I’m naturally not allowed to take photos. It has been an extraordinary experience “living” in Nottingham village most days and I’ve hated coming back to London. We have animals there and this week the soldiers turned in force and it all came truly alive.

  11. My friend Patricia has been working in this film for 3 weeks as an extra, doing some scenes with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.

She’s playing a villager , and has done rape scenes where the soldiers came and burnt the village down raping and killing.

She’s done scenes looking after geese, and lots lots more,

  12. they burned the bourne woods village down 2 july I missed it

  13. Hi Harry,

Thanks for all the info and pics! I’m just curious if the movie has already wrapped, or if they still filming as of today, August 3. I know they started lensing at Shepperton on April 16th, or at least that’s what I read anyway. I’m just wondering how long this movie will be filming for. As it appears to be a big production they can take several months.
