Robin Hood Film Set 2009 part 4
by Harry Ford
Sorry I haven’t posted for a while been really busy trying to get my VW group site DemonDubs up and running. I have been over the set several times since and recently took my camera. As you may have seen in the Daily Mail they have been filming some shots recently with what looks like the Sherriff of Nottingham’s men attacking a village.
I had a really cool comment today from a background artist working on the sets who said:
It has been an extraordinary experience “living” in Nottingham village most days and I’ve hated coming back to London. We have animals there and this week the soldiers turned out in force and it all came truly alive.
As I orginally expected the huge structure at the top of the hill they have been building is now being covered. As you will see from the pictures it is turning into quite the castle! Painting work has been done to the stonework making it look pretty awesome. Everything I now see about this film makes me want to see it more, very exciting! I know Ridley Scott will not disapoint I watched for the umpteenth time the other day the Ridley Scott’s cut of Kingdom of Heaven. A great movie.
Hope you enjoy the photos!
Funny story as you see in the 3rd picture down there is a Charles Morris waste management container. Well good old Charlie Morris is my Great Uncle. Don’t see him much but my nan visits him all the time. Him and my Grandad set up the company ‘Charles Morris’ after the Second World War.

Great post and you done a great job for posting awesome pictures. Thanks for the post.
hi.
The Wales shots are not of the Sheriff’s men attacking, but the French army. The antagonist in the story is not the Sheriff, unfortunately
also, the castle is pretty much done so your pictures need updating but thanks for posting.
