I had been hearing that lot of day and night scenes have been filmed recently. So wasn’t surprised to find alot had been going on. I found a whole host of tents and flags below the castle this trip. I think the largest of the tents made from blue and gold colours had Richard the Lionhearts flags flying (please correct me if I’m wrong). Many other coloured flags joined the army camps set up. If anybody can recognise any of the flags and who they belonged to I would be very interested indeed.

The portcullis had been broken and burnt through with the help of the very large battering ram seen earlier on in my blogs. If you look closely enough the earth is scattered with many arrows which had been fired from the castle walls at the invading army.

The village has more or less been completly destroyed by fire now apart from the large fortified (wooden) gates. On my way over the film set I found what at first I thought was a dead falcon with it’s head missing! I wasn’t totaly wrong in the end as it was a stuffed falcon prop with real feathers. It was obviously taken off the set by a very happy fox who took it’s head off right away. Only for the fox to find it filled with cotten wool. Better luck next time foxy ;)
